LATEST MEMBER SPOTLIGHTS
I was born at a Salvation Army Hospital in St. Louis Missouri, adopted at birth, three and half years in Papua New Guinea with a missionary family. That family terminated the adoption (yes that is the legal description), foster care then, adopted again a couple of months shy of my 4th birthday and given a new name.
As Newton’s laws go, an object in motion tends to stay in motion. And in my youth, I was a body in motion. I grew up a competitive equestrian and was a three-sport varsity athlete in high school. In my twenties this evolved to group fitness and fun runs. I felt unstoppable.
Diagnosed with diabetes a decade ago, exercise became a vital part of managing my health.
For decades hiking and back packing were part of my life. Many trips, many with my friend Peter, another member of 212, to the High Sierras, the Adirondacks, March trips to the high deserts in California, Arizona, Death Valley, Joshua Tree.
