Frank Nassisi

Hi. I’m Frank. I am honored to be chosen as this month’s Member Spotlight. A little bit about me, I am 15 years old, and I am the youngest of 3 children in my family. My two older siblings and my dad are all athletic. Growing up mom put all of us in sports. I have played street hockey, indoor soccer, football and baseball. While I enjoyed playing those sports, none of them were a passion for me.

In May of 2023, after deciding that I was not going to play baseball, my mom and I agreed that I would need to stay active somehow. So, she called Kerry and set up my orientation. I was pretty nervous and pretty shy. I had no idea what to expect. When we met with Kerry, he asked both my mom and I what we wanted to achieve or what the goals were. My mom knew exactly what she wanted to see. She said, “I would like him to build confidence and self-esteem, build some strength, and connect with something other than video games.” She also told me she wanted to see me physically challenge myself. My goals didn’t come so easy. I had no idea what I wanted my goal to be. This was the first time stepping foot in a gym in my life. Nervously I said, “I want to be able to do a pull-up, get stronger and I want to have something to do.”

In these past two years I have worked with many trainers at 212 Health and Performance. Every trainer has been nice, tough, instructive and encouraging. I truly enjoy working out and seeing my progress. As far as my mom’s goals for me; I am more confident, I am definitely stronger, I try never to miss a session and I like to think that I do challenge myself physically. I believe it is safe to say I am reaching those goals. My goals, I’m reaching those too. I can easily do pull ups now. I can barely remember not being able to do even one. I am feeing much stronger, and can see my progress every time I hit a new PR.  As far as having something to do, I have something I love to do 2-3 times a week.

Thank you to Kerry and all the 212 trainers for working with me, challenging me, and helping me to find something that will forever be part of who I am. I look forward to reaching new goals and improving my PRs, becoming even stronger and better version of myself and enjoying my time at 212 Health and Performance.
