I am honored to be selected as this month’s Member Spotlight.
I’ve always enjoyed working out, but over time I got away from making it a consistent part of my routine. My sister encouraged me to give 212 a try, and I’m so glad she did. At first, I wasn’t very consistent with coming to the gym, but that changed when I signed up for Superhero this past year. It gave me the push, accountability, and motivation I needed to get back on track. What started as a challenge quickly became a lifestyle, and since then I’ve been coming to the gym consistently. It’s now one of the best parts of my day and something I truly look forward to.
One thing I've learned is that you don't have to be the most coordinated or naturally athletic person to belong here. I'm usually the one who needs an exercise explained—or demonstrated—more than once before it clicks, and that's okay! The coaches have always been patient and encouraging, and they've created an environment where asking questions is welcomed, not judged. That's made a huge difference in building my confidence.
What this journey has taught me is that you don't have to be perfect to make progress. I've learned to celebrate the small victories, laugh at myself when things don't go quite right, and keep showing up. Looking back, I'm grateful I stayed consistent, because that's made all the difference.
