Showing Up in 2026

by Kerry Taylor

Another year has gone by, and like many years before it, it was filled with many ups and downs but we all made it. We all made it to another chapter in the journey. The question always is, what does this new chapter hold in store for us? What story will we try to write for ourselves? It’s up to us to make it a story we can be proud of. Because that’s all that matters, our pen is our weapon.

Take a moment and look how far you’ve come. In life, but also in the gym. As you may have seen in some of the stats we released last month, YOU SHOWED UP! It’s always about showing up. It is the battle that most people lose. They can’t show up and will have every excuse or blame anyone else as to why they didn’t show up. As I have said, the hardest exercise in the gym is opening the gym door, or the heaviest piece of equipment is the gym door. I applaud all those that have showed up more than not. We are proud of you.

You are what makes showing up the fun part. The energy you can bring to the table daily flows through the workouts and the gym. We all know it is more than just a workout and the numbers you lift or move. It’s the support you give or receive, it’s the friendships you create, it’s the motivation, it’s the ability to show yourself, “YOU CAN”, when sometimes other parts of your life may say you can’t. So keep showing up for you, you will always be better for it.

Showing up is always something I try to do, whether it is here at 212 with and for all of you, but also when outside 212 for my mini me’s, Adrionna and Declan. There are days I want to pull my hair out (that I don’t have) because I couldn’t get it all done, but the goal is to always put forth the effort. Team Taylor took on some new challenges this year, and I am so proud of both of them. Adrionna graduated from 5th grade and moved on up to middle school. While doing that she also decided to take on cross country and football cheerleading. She did amazing in both sports, finishing in top 10 and top 5 of most her races competing against 6th, 7th and 8th graders. She also earned a flyer spot in cheerleading until a nasty ankle injury sidelined her. Declan graduated from Pre-K and took on flag football, piano and basketball. Flag football was slow going but he got out there. Piano has been a surprising enjoyment for him and basketball is going pretty good so far, the jury is still out, lol.

As we close out 2025 and usher in 2026, there are things we want to leave behind or habits we want to change to better ourselves. The one thing, as I mentioned earlier, is to make sure you show up for yourself. Showing up for yourself and for each other will only help lead you to levels of success you never thought possible. It will breed consistency which will lead to climbing up another rung on the ladder of achievement. I look forward to hearing about all the goals you’re shooting for this year and how we can help you get there. I’m looking forward to the new things we will implement in to the gym in the future to better service all of you.

Cheers to another year of showing up, growing stronger, living life 1 degree above the rest and doing it all together!!
