As a coach in the fitness industry, the reasons that can come up for why people don’t or can’t workout can be down right annoying, serious and hilarious. One of the top reasons is the, “I don’t have time” reason. I mean, I get it, everyone’s time is valuable and you choose to spend it how you want. But, what can be better than making yourself a healthier and in better shape version of yourself? If you can do that, everything in your life will get better. I know I didn’t tell you anything that you didn’t already know, but ask yourself, “Why don’t I make the time?” It may not be that important to you, as I know it isn’t to many. A lot of things aren’t in life until it becomes a problem. Then it becomes the most important thing in their lives.
Doctor: “You’re pre-diabetic. If you stay active, it can help with your insulin to keep your blood sugar levels normal.”
You: “I need to eat healthier and be more active.”
Doctor: “You’re at high risk for heart disease. If you start to get into a normal exercise routine, it can lower the risk of you dying from heart disease or it getting worse.”
You: “I need to lose weight and get into better shape.”
You: Bent over breathing hard from playing with the kids
You: “I need to get into better shape.”
Unfortunately, It’s the way of the world. What if you carved out 20 minutes max for yourself to do something? It can be anything you find enjoyable, walking, playing a sport, running, swimming, dancing. It all helps keep the machines we call our bodies, working to the best of their abilities. Below you will find 3 workouts that won’t take you more than 20 minutes to do if you are a gym person, and will have you making progress everyday toward a healthier lifestyle.

Give these a try when you’re short on time. Remember, I didn’t say “get into the gym,” I said, “workout.” Working out can be anything, just make sure you are doing something. Use a part of your day to invest in your body so it can repay you with a longer, stronger, more energetic fulfilled life. Our bodies are always under construction. Until next time, continue to live life 1 degree above the rest.
